Kids’ Book Club: Oh, the Places We’ll Go with Dr. Seuss
Books for this month’s kids’ book club: Any by Dr. Seuss (I’ll link all of them at the end of the post. We almost got to them all!)
I tried to do some Wacky Wednesday things. Balloon tree — wacky!
She dressed up as a wacky Daisy-Head Mayzie. That was a real flower! 🙂
Here’s the star machine from the Sneetches book (my favorite!)
I put sticky stars out for the kids to put on (and take off). 🙂
Then they colored a picture I found of Hop on Pop on the Seussville website. I also set up flowers and pipe cleaners for them to make their own Maizy headband.
Then they hopped on it. 🙂
The Tooth Book — time to clean their teeth. 🙂 Yellow teeth, toothbrushes and some white paint.
I made truffula trees from The Lorax. using pool noodles, tape and tissue paper balls.
I put out playdoh, some straws with tape around them and cotton candy so they could make their own truffula tress.
The Foot Book – I set up a bunch of directions, up foot, down foot, etc. This one is hurt foot with some bandaids.
This activity was “There’s a __________ on my orange.” They had to create something with the play doh.
For my inspiration, more ideas and resources for a more in depth look at the book, see my Book Theme: Dr. Seuss Pinterest Board.
Here are Dr. Seuss books in order of publication. There are 64 books. We had or found at two libraries all but 11 of them.
